According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Roma are contemplating a move to sign Borja Mayoral on a permanent deal this summer.
Mayoral, 23, is currently on loan with the Italian club from Real Madrid – but up to this point, it wasn’t known whether or not they would pursue him on a permanent basis.
Given the options that Zinedine Zidane already has at his disposal there was always going to be a strong chance Roma went for it, and ‘going for it’ seems to be the direction they’re heading in.
Roma aren’t quite the rising force in Italian football that they have been in the past but they’ve definitely given Mayoral a lot more respect than he’s been shown, at times, in the past with Madrid. Whether or not that’s going to be the key to unlocking this deal remains to be seen, with Roma first needing to stump up the cash necessary to make it happen.
