Roma’s Osvaldo on Tottenham radar
Italian daily Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Tottenham are considering a summer move for Roma striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo.
The Spurs are desperately short of options up front even after Jermain Defoe has returned from injury, and they are eager to sign a high-profile striker in the summer transfer window.
With top target Leandro Damiao not yet prepared to leave Brazil, Tottenham officials will have to look elsewhere.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Spurs are turning their attention towards Roma forward Pablo Daniel Osvaldo.
The 27-year-old has been showing a lot of potential at Stadio Olimpico, but his poor relationship with the fans and recent clash with captain Francesco Totti look set to drive him out of the club.
Roma officials have already decided to cash in on the Italy international in the summer, and their excellent relationship with Tottenham make the Spurs favourites for the player’s signature.
Since joining the Giallorossi from Espanyol, Osvaldo has scored a total of 22 goals in 48 Serie A appearances.
Juventus watch Oscar Cardozo
Portuguese daily Record has learned that Juventus are keeping close tabs on Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo.
The Bianconeri are looking to sign a world-class centre forward in the summer transfer window and the Paraguayan striker is one of the players they are looking at.
According to Record, Juventus emissaries were at Estadio da Luz last night to watch the player in action as Benfica recorded a 5-0 win over Gil Vicente.
The same source claims the Bianconeri were also scouting defender Ezequiel Garay and forward Rodrigo Moreno.
Oscar Cardozo joined Benfica from Newell’s Old Boys in the summer of 2007 and quickly developed into a key player at Estadio da Luz.
The 29-year-old has scored a total of 103 goals in 152 Primeira Liga appearances for the Eagles.
He is currently regarded as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers and is available for sale, provided the price is right.
Dortmund join race for Gameiro
Borussia Dortmund are readying summer bid for Paris Saint-Germain striker Kevin Gameiro, according to L’Equipe.
The Millionaires have come to terms with losing Robert Lewandowski and they are now working on signing a replacement for the Polish striker.
BVB have been heavily linked with Hannover star Mame Biram Diouf, but they are also keeping tabs on PSG forward Kevin Gameiro.
L’Equipe reports that the Saints had the player watched in PSG’s 2-1 win over Nancy at the weekend.
The 25-year-old footballer has been mostly restricted to substitute appearances this season, but he, nevertheless, managed to score 5 league goals and had a big impact in his only Champions League match this season.
Gameiro is, however, fed up with waiting for his chance at Parc des Princes and is set to leave the club at the end of the current campaign.
Besides Dortmund, Liverpool and Valencia have also been showing interest in the highly rated attacker.
