(GSM) – Roma’s new signing Fabio Simplicio believes his side can do better than their biggest Serie A rivals Internazionale. The Brazilian midfielder, who joined the Romans from Palermo, says his new side can not only beat Inter in the Italian Super Cup, but also overtake them in Serie A.
Simplicio joined Roma on a free transfer and is expected to deputise for David Pizarro or Daniele De Rossi when necessary.
“Roma can do better than last year,” said the controlling midfielder.
“Already in April I understood the importance of joining Roma.
“This group can match Inter and do even better.
“I can’t wait to play with De Rossi and Pizarro. They are opponents who have put me in the most difficulty even if I have also got on well with Brighi in the last few days.
“I have scored 35 goals in Italy. I consider myself to be a joker in the pack and I am putting myself at Ranieri’s service,” he concluded.
