(GSM) – Milan Midfielder Ronaldinho has made a verbal agreement to extend his contract with Milan until 2014, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Rossoneri are keen to reward him after a good season in Serie A, but also requested that he take a 25 per cent pay cut in line with their efforts to trim the budget.

Ronaldinho will only put pen to paper though if Milan finish third and automatically qualify for next year’s Champions League.

The news comes after reports that his brother who also works as his agent was in England last week, discussing an offer from Manchester City.

However, Ronaldinho looks set to reject City’s overtures, in part because of his loyalty to Leonardo who has got him back playing at a high standard.

The 30-year-old is ready to acknowledge that if he does go to the World Cup this summer, it will be because of the faith Leo has shown in him.

He now plans to play another four years at San Siro before returning to Brazil where he will end his career, possibly with Flamengo.
