Ronaldo reveals he was close to wear Inter shirt

FIFA World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo stole the show as Manchester United travelled to San Siro to face Inter in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.

Ronaldo told the Corriere dello Sport: “I was impressed by Santon; he is a really interesting lad and a great footballer. Ibrahimovic is a great striker and our defenders will need to be very focussed to stop him at Old Trafford. However, if we will play as well as we did in the first leg, I’m sure we will go through.”

“It was a long time ago and I don’t even remember it well,” asserted Ronaldo. “I was 17 or 18 and someone mentioned the possibility of a move to Inter. Then Manchester United arrived and I came here.”
