Roncaglia set for Genoa return

Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Genoa are set to complete the signing of Facundo Roncaglia from Fiorentina.

The Argentine defender was on the verge of joining Marseille several weeks back, but the departure of coach Marcelo Bielsa changed everything.

According to the latest reports, Roncaglia will be leaving Fiorentina after all, but he looks set to return to Stadio Luigi Ferraris, where he enjoyed a very successful loan spell last term.

The 28-year-old started 32 Serie A fixtures for the Rossoblu last term, mostly operating on the right hand side and he will now be back to the club.

The two sides are on the verge of reaching an agreement for another season-long loan, believed to be worth around €1 million.

Roncaglia’s good form while at Genoa helped the defender return to Argentina national team and he is now regular in Tata Martino’s squad, acting as a back-up to Pablo Zabaleta.
