Napoli midfielder Walter Gargano says there is still a large margin for improvement despite what the club have already achieved this season.
The Naples club currently lie in sixth position in the Serie A table, 10 points shy of joint-leaders AC Milan and Juventus, while they will tackle Chelsea in the Champions League round of 16 after surviving the ‘Group of Death’.
Gargano, who scored in the 6-1 rout of Genoa last week, is happy with the way Napoli have been faring this season, but believes that his side must continue working hard to progress further.
“We have done something extraordinary, we have accomplished something that was unthinkable,” Gargano told his official website.
“Our goals for the New Year are to continue along this road, confirm our status and always aim to do better, especially in the Champions League.”
“We are very united. As soon as we have a free moment, we spend it together, especially the South American players of the squad.”
The Uruguay international, who joined Napoli in 2006, has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season.
