Rooney considers Southampton job

According to a recent report from talkSPORT, Wayne Rooney is considering a return to English football with Southampton.

After leaving Derby County to return to DC United, many felt as if Rooney would stay put in the United States for quite some time – especially with the MLS season kicking off later this month.

Alas, it turns out that he’s been reportedly tempted by the vacant managerial position at the Saints – although as of this writing, it feels like it may not quite happen.

That’s because Jesse Marsch is believed to be on the verge of joining the boys on the south coast, just a week after departing from Leeds United.

Even if he does take over, though, it’s still a big telling point for Rooney at DC United. He seems to bounce around from job to job since kickstarting his coaching career and, simply put, that doesn’t feel like an effective way to make your mark.
