Rooney not a fan of early kick-off

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has claimed that lunch-time kick-offs are ‘no good for players’.

United scored a 1-0 win over Everton in the early start at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Javier Hernandez scored the only goal of the game as United made it two wins from two following their derby loss to Manchester City last week, ensuring they would remain five points behind Roberto Mancini’s side in the table.

Despite the positive result for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side, Rooney has spoken out over his dislike for midday kick-offs in the Premier League.

“Just have to say 12 o’clock kick off is no good for players. Trying to force pasta down at 9 in the morning is not nice,” he said on Twitter.

The England striker played the full 90 minutes against his former club and was full of praise for both sets of fans as United claimed all three points.

“Great win for u’s today,” he added. “Very tough game but we seen it out. Both sets of fans were brilliant. Great atmosphere as always.”
