Danny Rose said he relished the opportunity to play in Tottenham’s FA Cup 0-0 draw with Stevenage on Saturday.

The 21-year-old was played at left wing-back position and excelled, picking up plaudits for his display, as he plundered the flank.

Rose provided the assist for Louis Saha’s disallowed goal, which was ruled out for offside after the striker’s shot hit Scott Parker on the goalline.

“It just shows you can’t take anything for granted in football,” Rose told the club’s official website.

“When we play at White Hart Lane the pitch is always cut perfectly, we’ve big changing rooms and it’s different at somewhere like Stevenage.”

“It’s great to have the experience of going to a lower league stadium and you have to be professional.”

“I thought we were professional in our performance, certainly not sloppy, but we didn’t create enough chances on the day.”

“Full credit to Stevenage, I thought they did well. We’ll now have a replay and we’ll look to win.”

The Under-21 international Rose has so far made nine appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season.
