(GSM) – Norwegian side Rosenborg are a step closer to the final qualifying round for the UEFA Champions League following a small victory at AIK in Sweden.
The Scandinavian clash, which took place at Solna’s Rasundastadion, had been under way for 33 minutes when Markus Henriksen scored what turned out to be the only goal of the match.
Should Rosenborg advance to the next round, they remain on course to reach the Champions League for the first time since 2004. AIK last reached the highest stage in European football in the 1999-2000 season.
The two nordic sides will meet again Trondheim on August 4.
