Rossi desperate to join Barcelona

Villarreal forward Giuseppe Rossi is desperate to join Barcelona and he is trying to engineer a move to Camp Nou.

The Italian forward believes this is a unique opportunity to join the best club in the world and he has reportedly asked club president Fernando Roig to accept any Barcelona offer that would be close to club’s asking price.

The player’s agent yesterday revealed that a move to Barcelona is a priority for the Italian.

Villarreal have yet to receive an offer from Barcelona, with the club’s valuation of the player looking a bit high for the Catalans.

Rossi is rated at €30 million by the Villarreal chiefs, which is exactly two thirds of Barca’s announced transfer kitty.

With the Catalans also chasing Alexis Sanchez and Cesc Fabregas, Rossi’s wish looks unlikely to be fulfilled this summer.

Everyone knows he was born in the US.
Calling him American in a football article is only a no no because he plays for Italy – not because ‘Americans aren’t good at football’…

I guess my big thing is that because he’s such a fantastic player, calling him American would be a no no because American’s aren’t good at football(soccer) like the rest of the world. The thing is, is that if all of the players in our country that go out for basketball, football, hockey and baseball started playing soccer, the US would be #1 in the world without a doubt! It just irks me, that’s all

People do realize that he’s American right? I was born in the USA, but I’m Italian by heritage but that still makes me American. Stupid People!
