Villarreal forward Giuseppe Rossi is looking forward to the clash against former club Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Spanish side is struggling with injuries ahead of the clash at Old Trafford.

“I’m hopeful I can feature,” he told EFE. “I feel good and I’m slowly recovering my best form.

“The game against United will be a great encounter against the best team in the world and for me it’s going to be special having played there.

“All the players at Villarreal can’t wait to play such a game.”

The 21-year-old joined Villarreal last summer in a £6.6 million deal from Manchester United. Rossi joined the Red Devils when he was just 17-year-old, and was believed the bee their next big hit.

Manchester United have a buy-back clause, which will allow them to bring Rossi back to Old Trafford if they want to.
