If you are new to the game of Roulette, you may be overwhelmed by all the betting options you can choose from. And as if they were not enough, there is a trend among software providers to add new features that should make the gameplay more exciting.

Roulette variants, especially ones available at live dealer tables, have recently got a variety of extra features that provide players with a chance to hit bigger prizes. If you are interested in what these games have on offer and whether you should give them a try, stay tuned as we have done our homework to bring you all the details.

Roulette Variants with Multipliers

Evolution Gaming has established itself as an authority in the production of live casino games thanks to high-quality content and a fresh approach. In February 2018, they came up with a Live Roulette game that offers players a chance to win big thanks to up to 500x multipliers. So-called Lucky Payouts and Lucky Numbers are added to a standard European Roulette table for more excitement and higher payouts.

The game combines live casino and RNG gameplay with up to 5 numbers on the layout being hit by lightning. When this happens, the numbers are assigned multipliers worth between 50x to 500x. You can win one of these only on a Straight Up bet though. Also, keep in mind that the Straight Up bet pays less than in standard European Roulette standing at 29:1 instead of 35:1.

Lightning Roulette can be played in the RNG version of the game as well. It is one of the games in the First Person series launched by Evolution to offer players an opportunity to switch between RNG-operated and live casino gameplay with a single click or a tap.

In 2019, Playtech came up with their take on Roulette with huge multipliers. It is called Quantum Roulette, and just like the Evolution title, it is hosted by a real-life dealer. Yet in this case, the wheel is automated, meaning that the dealer doesn’t operate it. Again, we have a game with a single zero, and multipliers between 50x and 500x added to random numbers. Other rules are also the same, with the Straight Up bet paying 29:1 without multipliers applied. Of course, this is the only bet that can win you prizes with up to 500x multipliers.

Roulette Variants with Progressive Jackpots

We all love progressive slots offering us a chance to win a life-changing jackpot. Now, what about Roulette with a progressive jackpot? In 2017, Playtech launched a new concept that combines the popular table game and video slot gameplay. It is all about their popular Age of the Gods slot series coming with no less than four networked progressive jackpots ticking away.

Once you load the game, you will see a backdrop themed on Ancient Egypt, just like the slot series itself. The game uses European Roulette rules with the addition of side bets you need to place for a chance to win one of the four jackpots. To do it, you need to enter the bonus jackpot game where the first three symbols will reveal the prize you get. It can be the Power Jackpot, starting at $50, the Extra Power Jackpot starting at $500, the Super Power Jackpot worth at least $5,000 and the Ultimate Power Jackpot with the initial amount of €100,000. Although this is a game based on European Roulette, Age of the Gods Roulette has a house edge of 5.26%. It is because of an additional purple pocket with the game’s logo you have to place a bet on to qualify for a progressive jackpot.

Roulette with Side Bets

Not all side bets can earn you a progressive jackpot though. Live Spread Bet Roulette is another live dealer table coming from Playetch’s creative kitchen that offers side bets. The game features two wheels. One is a regular European Roulette wheel on the table, while the other one is placed vertically behind the dealer. It contains two concentric wheels which determine the outcome of a round.

When it comes to side bets, they can pay up to 400x. By playing the Spread Bet, you predict that the numbers on the two concentric circles will give a total belonging to the sequence you have made your wager on. For instance, if you play the Spread Bet on 34-54, you predict that the sum of the winning numbers will fall into this spread. This bet pays 1:1 while the biggest payout is delivered by the Spread Bet 0-1 and it stands on 400x. If the ball on the main wheel hits zero, your Spread Bets are doubled and given back to you. The house edge in Spread Bet Roulette ranges between 3.43% and 6.94%, which makes it a risky bet.

Closing Thoughts

Now that you know your options, you can decide whether you will give the Roulette extra features a try. As you can see, these games involve more risk than standard Roulette, so make sure to play them responsibly. Keep an eye on your bankroll and don’t gamble more than you can afford!
