Dutch midfielder Royston Drenthe is on the verge of signing for Greek giants PAOK, NUsport understands.
The 25-year-old was released from his contract at Real Madrid earlier this summer and he has since been searching for a new club.
The player expressed his desire to return to Feyenoord, but the Dutch giants pulled out of the deal when hearing of the player’s wage demands.
NUsport now claims that Greek side PAOK have entered the race to sign the highly rated winger and they appear to be on the verge of striking a deal.
Royston Drenthe joined Real Madrid in a €14 million switch from Feyenoord in the summer of 2007, but never quite managed to make an impact at Santiago Bernabeu.
The winger showed some promise during loan spells with Hercules and Everton, but his unprofessional behaviour ended up costing them the opportunity to earn permanent deal.
