(GSM) – The first trophy of the 2010 Russian season went to league champions Rubin Kazan, who beat CSKA Moscow 1-0 in the Super Cup final.
With a week to go until the the start of the league, the league and cup winners faced their first test at Moscow’s Luzhniki stadium.
Rubin, who had no less than eight nationalities in their starting line-up, scored the only goal of the match through striker Alexander Bukharov in the 35th minute.
In its eight editions, it is the first time that Rubin win the Super Cup. As defending champions in 2009, they ended up losing to the very same opponents as this year, CSKA.
