Rubin Kazan are considering a bid for West Brom forward Peter Odemwingie, Russian newspaper Izvestia has revealed.
The Russian giants hope to sign another striker before the transfer window closes on Thursday as they aim to compensate for the departure of Sergey Davydov.
Recent reports suggested that Rubin were weighing up a move for West Brom star Peter Odemwingie, with the player’s representative confirming the speculation.
“Rubin wanted to buy Peter last winter,” agent David Omigie confessed to Izvestia.
“At the time, Odemwingie were playing fantastic football in England and West Brom convinced him to stay.
”Now, in the view of the situation, we are considering employment options for Peter. At the moment, we have a few contacts, including the one from the Kazan club.”
Peter Odemwingie, 31, was on the verge of joining QPR on January transfer deadline day, and he even drove to Loftus Road himself, but the deal ultimately feel through.
He was later heavily criticized for trying to engineer a move away from the club, and has in turn lost his place in the starting line up at Hawthorns.
Having already played for Lokomotiv Moscow, the Nigerian is likely to be interested to hear what Rubin Kazan have to offer.
