Rubin Kazan test Schalke resolve with €14m bid for Huntelaar

Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan have made a €14m bid for Schalke forward Klaas Jan Huntelaar, according to Bild.

The Dutch forward has had a mixed success at Schalke since arriving to Veltins Arena from Milan and he has been linked with a summer move.

Rubin Kazan have now offered €14 million for the 27-year-old, which is the same amount Schalke paid for his transfer from Milan.

Schalke’s sporting director has confirmed Rubin interest in the striker.

“There has been a request from Russia,” Heldt told Bild.

“Kazan have shown interest in Huntelaar. Apparently, they have also talked to his representative.

Nonetheless, Heldt has denied that Huntelaar will be sold.

”However, we can rule out a sale. Klaas Jan is staying with us.”
