Russian champions Rubin Kazan have strengthened their squad by signing Brazilian midfielder Carlos Eduardo from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on a four-year deal, local media reported on Tuesday.
The Russian champions will reportedly pay the German club 20 million euro over 18 months for the 23-year-old Brazilan, who played in four friendly matches for his national squad.
“Eduardo is a very fast player with a precise pass,” said Rubin manager Kurban Berdyev, who personally went to Germany to sign the Brazilan. “He’s able to play in different positions and, I believe, will strengthen us.”
Eduardo started his professional career in Gremio in 2007 just a month before Hoffenheim lured him from the Brazilian powerhouse. He played 80 matches and scored 18 goals for the German side.
