Antonio Rudiger is demanding a financial package worth over €46 million in total as Chelsea aim to get him to sign a new contract, according to Marca.
The German international has never been very open on his potential destination should he decide to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, when his current deal expires. Since the start of the campaign, he said on several occasions that he wasn’t talking to any club but Chelsea.
However, reports keep coming from Spain about contacts with Real Madrid, supposedly instigated by the player’s representatives, while the 13-time European champions aren’t too interested at the moment.
Chelsea have apparently made him an offer of €135,000 per week, which he rejected due to the simple fact that it would leave him outside the top 10 earners at the club. The Champions League holders face similar issues with Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen, and it seems they have a lot of work to do shape their defence for the coming seasons.
