According to a recent report from Fabrizio Romano, Antonio Rudiger is set to join Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.
It was confirmed by Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel that the defender will be leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season with his current contract being set to expire aronud that time. He’s been able to talk to clubs outside of England since then and it looks like he’s settled on a move to Madrid.
Romano indicates that a verbal agreement is in place with a long-term free transfer being the plan of action.
Manchester United and Barcelona were both believed to be in the hunt to bring the Chelsea star over to their respective clubs but the allure of playing for Real appears to have been too much for Rudiger to turn down, in this instance.
Of course, with it just being a verbal agreement, there could still be some wiggle room.
