AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger is thought to have agreed a move to Chelsea this summer.
The Premier League champions reportedly negotiated a £30 million fee for the German international, who is expected to become Antonio Conte’s first summer signing.
Rudiger is currently celebrating Germany’s Confederations Cup victory in Russia and refused to be dragged into Chelsea switch speculation.
The 24-year-old did not confirm or deny Blues interest but told sufficiently to hint towards AS Roma departure.
“It’s not about the future now… it’s now about enjoyment. I need to enjoy this moment, and I’m enjoying it to the fullest. The rest we will see in the coming weeks.”, Rudiger said.
Rudiger is widely expected to arrive in London this week in order to finalise the details of his transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have been linked with a number of defensive targets this summer and the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Leonardo Bonucci, but Antonio Conte was ultimately praised for his cost-efficient decision to add the quality Roma defender at a much affordable price.
Antonio Rudiger made 26 Serie A outings last season for AS Roma.
