The representatives of Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger are in ‘constant dialogs’ with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain over a free transfer this summer, according to Sky Sports.
Back in the days of Frank Lampard in charge of the team at Stamford Bridge, Rudiger was low in the pecking order an his future at the club seemed in doubt for reasons very different to today. His career took a definite upturn with the arrival of Thomas Tuchel and his decision to switch permanently to a back-three system, and Rudiger played a vital role in everything Chelsea have achieved since, most notably winning the Champions League last season.
However, the 28-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season and he has so far refused to sign a new one. It’s highly unlikely he’ll be doing so at all, given everything Chelsea are going through at the moment due to having a Russian billionaire for an owner.
Real have been the club credited most heavily with interest in his services, though the likes of Barcelona, PSG and Bayern Munich have occasionally been mentioned as well.
