Antonio Rudiger is keen to leave Chelsea and join Real Madrid as a free agent next summer, according to Marca.
The Germany international arrived to Stamford Bridge from AS Roma in 2017 for a reported fee of just €9 million. Since then, his gone on to make a total of 164 appearances for the London Blues, scoring eight goals as a central defender. His time at the club hasn’t always gone smoothly, and he seemed a bit of a forgotten man before Thomas Tuchel took charge of the team. However, the former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain boss has fully reinstated Rudiger as one of the most important players in his team, and the 28-year-old played a huge part in their Champions League-winning campaign last season.
However, Rudiger’s contract expires at the end of the season and he’s been reluctant to recommit his future to the club, which has led to numerous speculations. It was recently reported that Real were planning to repeat the feat which saw them land David Alaba from Bayern Munich on a free transfer this summer, and Rudiger is apparently interested in joining the Spanish giants too.
