Sporting CP captain Rui Patricio is nearing a summer move away from Estadio Jose Alvalade, according to Record.
The Portugal international appears to have decided to leave the club after 12 seasons in the senior squad, having recently clashed with chairman Bruno de Carvalho.
And after the Lions missed out on Champions League qualification and the Taca de Portugal title, this definitely feels like the right time to move on.
According to Record, Napoli have emerged as favourites for the player’s signature as they want Rui Patricio to succeed Pepe Reina at Stadio San Paolo.
The player himself is tempted by the prospect of joining the Azzurri and it only remains to be seen whether the two clubs can reach an agreement over the transfer fee.
