(GSM) – Rubin Kazan dropped their first points of the Russian season, as the defending champions were held to a goalless draw by Terek Grozny on Sunday.

After wins over Lokomotiv Moscow and Tom Tomsk, Rubin Kazan hoped to become the only team to win all of their first three matches.

However, Rubin never managed to make a difference against Terek, who themselves are still without defeat with one win and two draws.

Rubin now share the top spot with Spartak Nalchik, Zenit St. Petersburg and CSKA Moscow, who all have seven points.

Spartak Moscow won the capital city derby with Lokomotiv 2-1 to get their first victory of the season. Early goals from Marek Suchy and Ari were enough for the hosts to get the win, even though Alexandr Aliyev pulled one back near the half hour.
