(GSM) – Russian league leaders Zenit St. Petersburg defeated Sibir Novosibirsk 2-5 on Sunday while second-placed CSKA Moskva earned a hard-fought 4-3 win over Krylya Sovetov.
Zenit traveled to Siberia to face Sibir Novosibirsk, where the home side needed just six minutes to take a 2-0 lead with goals from Ivan Nagibin and Bartlomiej Grzelak.
But Vladimir Bistrov pulled one back in the 13th minute and an own goal from Steeve Reinette set the score to 2-2 in the 15th.
Zenit dominated after the break, with goals from Danny, Sergey Semak and Alexander Anyukov, for a 2-5 final result.
CSKA hosted Krylya Sovetov and built a 3-0 lead with goals from Alexei Berezutski (3rd), Tomas Necid (8th) and Zoran Tosic (67th).
Oleg Ivanov scored back in the 72nd minute and the visitors were given even more hope seven minutes later when a foul from Berezutski had a red card and a penalty as result.
Leilton converted the spot kick, but Necid restored the two-goal gap in the 89th minute.
Sergey Tkachev made it 4-3 in the dying seconds but CSKA held on to their lead.
