(GSM) – Russian leaders Zenit St. Petersburg earned a 2-3 victory at Spartak Nalchik on Sunday and are another step closer to winning the Premier League title.
Spartak Nalchik, one of the candidates for a Europa League berth, had their plans destroyed in the opening phase as Alexander Kerzhakov scored in the 2nd and 22nd minutes to hand Zenit a comfortable 0-2 lead.
Jovan Golic pulled one back just before the break but Zenit soon restored the gap as Roman Shirokov netted for 1-3 in the third minute after half time.
Viktor Vasin made it 2-3 in the 89th minute but Zenit avoided further damage and held on to their lead.
Spartak Moskva surpassed Nalchik for fourth place following a 0-1 win at Anzhi Makhachkala. The only goal came from Aleksandr Sheshukov in the 23rd minute.
