Spartak Moscow, CSKA Moscow and FK Krasnodar are all showing interest in Zenit midfielder Roman Shirokov, according to Izvestia.
Following a clash with club chiefs in St Petersburg, the experienced footballer was farmed out on loan at Krasnodar, where he has continued his excellent form.
And with his contract at Zenit now set to expire, quite a few of Russia’s top clubs are hoping to secure his signature.
Shirokov’s current employers hope to keep hold of his services, but it is believed the 32-year-old is not satisfied with the length of the contract offered.
As a result, Spartak Moscow, CSKA Moscow and FK Krasnodar are all looking to take advantage of the situation and sign the player on permanent basis.
After scoring 5 goals in 10 league games for Zenit this term, Shirokov has netted three times in six league outings for FK Krasnodar, so nobody was surprised to see him named in Fabio Capello’s World Cup squad.
