Russian giants Zenit St.Petersburg are said to be interested in Genoa defender Salvatore Bocchetti and are willing to pay as much as twelve million euros to bring the 23 year old to the Russian Premier League.
Zenit are coached by Luciano Spalletti, better known in Italian football circles as Roma’s manager before Claudio Ranieri. They have enjoyed a great start to the 10/11 Russian Premier League season and are currently seven points ahead of defending champions Rubin Kazan.
Spalletti is keen to sign a defender and has also shown interest in Bruno Alves, also a target for English giants Manchester United.
If Bocchetti does sign for Zenit, he will become the second Italian player in their squad after Alessandro Rosina.
