Ryan Babel drops quit hint

Hoffenheim forward Ryan Babel has confirmed reports that he could leave the Bundesliga side at the end of the season.

The Dutch forward managed to kick-start his career in Germany following the unsuccessful spell at Liverpool, but it appears that he will not be staying at Rhein Neckar Arena for much longer.

Babel admits that he could decide to leave Bundesliga in order to reach his full potential.

“I think I have improved a lot since I joined, but I think I may have to leave this league,” Babel told German television Sport1.

“Football is about doing so and I can’t say that I’ll always stay.”

The 25-year-old has a contract until June 2013 with Hoffenheim and there is every chance that the Bundesliga side will try and cash in on the player in the summer.

The Dutch forward hasn’t really managed to justify his £8 million price tag at Rhein Neckar Arena, having scored just 4 goals in 24 Bundesliga appearances this season.

Seeing that Babel scored just one goal in 15 Bundesliga games in his first season at the club, Hoffenheim are likely to lose some money should they decide to sell the Dutchman at the end of the season.
