The international football is behind us as we all get back to the delight of club competitions and Dutch fans will be the first ones to move on as soon as possible after the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying failure.
The Netherlands failed to qualify for the big event in Russia and will miss out for the second consecutive major tournament after Euro 2016.
The Dutch did their best – just like Ryan Babel in Netherlands training – but simply lacked a cutting edge and good fortune in the end. Just like Babel again, who hit woodwork three times in a row while trying to score in training.
