Scotland were beaten by Croatia in Zagreb on Saturday, despite taking the lead in the 33rd minute through Bournemouth’s Ryan Christie, as Igor Matanovic of Eintracht Frankfurt equalized just three minutes later and Hoffenheim’s Andrej Kramaric turned the game around in the 71st.
There was still time for Steve Clarke’s men to suffer late heartbreak, as Che Adams put the ball in the net five minutes into the second-half stoppage time and saw it ruled out by the VAR for offside.
Speaking to the press after the game, Christie said he didn’t feel his team deserved to lose.
