Colombia have won their first match at the South American Under 20 Championships, 1-0 versus Peru, who had already lost their opener two days ago.

The Colombians, who dominated throughout most of the match, took the lead on 34 minutes. A free kick ended up near keeper Hermoza’s goal and Yamith Cuesta headed home from close range.

Other than a Colombian shot on the post, not much happened in the second half.

With the match between Venezuela and Ecuador pending, Colombia now share the Group A lead with Ecuador while Peru are last with two defeats in two games.
