Uruguay have begun the South American Under 20 Championships with a 2-0 win over Bolivia. Both goals were scored in the second half.

After a goalless first half, the Uruguayans needed only seven minutes in the second for Nacional de Montevideo winger Nicolas Lodeiro to break the deadlock.

Uruguay held on to their narrow lead and Lodeiro even added a second near full time to earn his side their first three points of the tournament, which leaves them in first place in Group B. Later today, tournament favorites Brazil play Paraguay.
