Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has made it clear coach Luis Enrique remains the Serie A side’s first option for next season.
The Spaniard’s future at the Stadio Olimpico remains uncertain after an inconsistent 2011-12 campaign, and Roma have already been linked with former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas in recent weeks as his possible replacement.
Nevertheless, Sabatini has insisted that Enrique is still their first choice for next season.
“Roma are always on the move and are always looking at opportunities and possibilities. However, Luis Enrique remains our first option,” Sabatini told Sky.
“Villas-Boas? If Luis Enrique doesn’t stay here, we want another coach who has our full confidence. I don’t want to talk about other coaches, though.”
Roma sit seventh in the Serie A table with one game remaining.
