Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has moved to deny reports that Francesco Totti will be leaving the club.
The club icon yesterday revealed that he could leave the Giallorossi if the situation did not improve, but Sabatini believes that Totti will finish his career at Olimpico.
“Totti will never leave Roma, he is Roma, and we want him to stay with us for life. Once he ends his playing career then he will take up a director’s role with us,” Sabatini told Sky Sport Italia.
The Roma official, however, cannot guarantee that Daniele De Rossi is going to stay as well.
“We’re working on it (the new contract). We want to construct this new contract, but we primarily want to gift De Rossi an important future. We’ll do all that we can to keep him.”
As far as Marco Borriello is concerned, Sabatini admits that he is likely to be sold.
“We won’t give him away, but his sale is very probable. If the right opportunity presents itself then we’ll do a deal.
“A move to Paris Saint-Germain? They’ve already spent enough, but a move abroad is plausible. We’ve received some offers from important clubs from north-west Europe. But not from PSG.”
