Marcel Sabitzer is set to leave Bayern Munich and join Borussia Dortmund after the Bundesliga rivals reached an agreement over a proposed transfer, according to multiple sources. The fee is believed to be set at €19 million, add-ons included.
The 29-year-old midfielder hasn’t been a part of the plan at Bayern for a while now, and the situation obviously hasn’t changed. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Manchester United, who later reportedly gave up on a pursuit of a permanent deal. Meanwhile, Dortmund are trying to piece their midfield ranks together, following the high-profile departure of Jude Bellingham.
German journalist Florian Plettenberg says Sabitzer has already left for Dortmund where he’s set to undergo the pre-transfer medical, and he’s expected to join his new teammates for the pre-season tour in the USA in the coming days, after he signs a contract that shouldn’t be set to last shorter than four years.
