Daily Mail is reporting that Bacary Sagna is edging closer to the Emirates exit after being disappointed with club’s latest contract offer.
The France international has a deal until June 2014 with the Gunners and has been negotiating a contract extension over the last couple of months.
After finding out that Arsenal are only prepared to offer him a one-year extension, without improving his £60,000 per week wages, Sagna has set his sights on leaving the club.
The 29-year-old is aware that the next contract he signs is likely to be the final big contract of his career and is, therefore, looking to leave Arsenal at the end of the season.
While Arsene Wenger will be disappointed to see another star player leave the Emirates, he might not have to sign a new right-back, given the progress Carl Jenkinson has shown this season.
Bacary Sagna joined the Gunners from Auxerre in the summer of 2007 and went on to make 161 Premier League appearances for the club.
