Daily Mail has learned that Monaco are stepping up their efforts to sign Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna.
The French giants are set to return to the top flight in the summer and they plan to reinforce their ranks with a number of high-profile players.
Monaco have been keeping close tabs on Bacary Sagna for a while now and they seem to be ready to test Arsenal’s resolve with a summer bid for the player’s services.
The 30-year-old has recently rejected a new contract offer at the Emirates and with his current deal set to expire in June 2014, there is every chance he will be sold this summer.
Sagna is believed to be keen on returning to France and he could be tempted by Monaco’s ambitious project.
The France international, therefore, looks set to leave the Gunners after six years and more than 170 Premier League appearances for the club.
