Bacary Sagna believes Eden Hazard should opt for a move to Arsenal instead of their north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Belgium international Hazard has already confirmed he will leave Ligue 1 for a move to England in the off season, but Arsenal fullback Sagna believes it would be a mistake if he opted to join Spurs.
“I think it would be an error for him,” Sagna was quoted as saying by The Mirror.
“I watch the French League and Hazard is an excellent player. It would be a major signing for Arsenal, but it’s up to different people to decide his destination.”
The last few weeks have seen Spurs reportedly move to the forefront in the race to sign Hazard.
But Sagna, believes Hazard has all the attributes to become an instant force in the Premier League, feels Arsenal would be best suited to his style of play.
“He needs to reflect and make the choice of club for the style of football,” Sagna said.
“Hazard has the perfect profile for the Premier League because he has swiftness, is a very good dribbler and is able to find spaces for team-mates. He is a player who can change the rhythm and provoke problems in defence.”
Should Hazard choose to join Harry Redknapp’s high-flying Spurs, France defender Sagna will have not hesitation in targeting the playmaker.
“If he goes to Spurs, he will be an enemy for me,” Sagna said.
