Everton striker Louis Saha has been ruled out for up to five weeks after a second scan on his hamstring injury on Friday.
Saha has been sidelined since suffering the injury in Everton's 1-0 win at Tottenham at the end of November and Toffees boss David Moyes confirmed that the 30-year-old, who joined from Manchester United in close-season, won't return to action until February.
“Louis has been re-scanned and he will be out for another four to five weeks,” Moyes told Everton's website.
Saha's prolonged absence is a major blow to Moyes, who is already without injured strikers Ayegbeni Yakubu, James Vaughan and Victor Anichebe.
Moyes has been forced to play with Australia midfielder Tim Cahill as a makeshift forward in recent weeks and Saha's injury problems are likely to force him into the January transfer market.
