French Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne are showing interest in Villarreal midfielder Javier Espinosa, L’Equipe can reveal.
The Yellow Submarine are in the market for midfield reinforcements and have so far made a check on Valentin Eysseric and Morgan Amalfitano.
However, the latest reports suggest that Villarreal’s Javier Espinosa is also on their radar and it remains to be seen whether les Verts will be making their interest concrete.
The 22-year-old came through Barcelona’s famous youth academy, bur despite impressing playing for the second team, he never made a single La Liga appearance for the Catalans.
Espinosa moved to Villarreal on a free transfer last summer and did well to make 15 league appearances in his first season at El Madrigal, scoring 1 goal.
Saint Etienne coach Christophe Galtier clearly believes that Espinosa has plenty of potential and could offer him a chance to move to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard this summer.
