Premier League outfit Southampton are weighing up bid for Villarreal winger Alfonso Pedraza, according to Marca.
The 20-year-old was loaned to second division side Lugo in the summer in order to gain valuable first team experience and he has grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
Pedraza went on to score 6 goals and produced another 8 assists in 21 Segunda Division matches, and his excellent showings did not go unnoticed.
While La Liga strugglers Sporting Gijon have already presented their offer, Premier League club Southampton have joined the chase as well.
The Saints scouts have been largely impressed with the winger’s performances this season and it only remains to be seen whether Southampton will make their move now or at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Villarreal coaching staff is well aware that the Under-19 European Championship winner has a great future ahead of him and they will not be too keen on seeing him leave El Madrigal.
