Premier League outfit Southampton have not enjoying the best of starts to the new campaign.

Having scored only five goals in seven matches thus far the Saints are one of the least efficient sides in English top tier and are expected to make certain moves in the January transfer market to solve their goal scoring problems.

The Italian striker Manolo Gabbiadini is nowhere to be found after a blistering start to his life at Southampton and manager Mauricio Pellegrino is determined to make additions to his squad in order to improve the dreadful numbers.

According to reports coming from Daily Mail, Saints have set their sights on the 24-year-old Barcelona outcast Paco Alcacer.

Former Valencia striker joined the Camp Nou outfit in 2016 for a sum of £27 million but has thus far endured a tortuous time with the Catalan giants.

Ernesto Valverde does not hold his player in high regard and is not expected to stand in his way once the January market opens.
