Southampton are hot on the trail of Newcastle footballers Daryl Janmaat and Tim Krul, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Saints appear to have come to terms with losing England full-back Nathaniel Clyne in the summer and they want the former Feyenoord star to replace him at St Mary’s.
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman hopes to get reunited with the highly rated footballer having coached him at De Kuip.
Daryl Janmaat has done pretty well since joining Newcastle last summer, having managed one goal and six assists in 33 Premier League starts, even playing at centre-back in some games.
His compatriot Tim Krul is also on Southampton’s radar seeing as first choice keeper Fraser Forster is set to miss around nine months of action through a knee problem.
And with situation at Newcastle far from perfect at the moment, the duo may be tempted to leave St James’ Park at the end of the season.
