Bukayo Saka will sign a new contract with Arsenal imminently, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The England international has apparently been monitored closely by two Premier League clubs and one from abroad, but their efforts have been in vain – the 21-year-old won’t leave the Emirates any time soon.
Having risen through the academy ranks, Saka broke into the first team squad in 2019, when Unai Emery was still in charge, but his notable ascent started happening when Mikel Arteta took over. He spent his early days as a senior playing on the left defensive flank, covering for the frequently injured Kieran Tierney, but even though he did the job relatively well, Arteta eventually realized his talents were wasted there and started putting him on the right wing.
This season, Saka has 13 goals and 10 assists in 38 matches at club level, and he’s been shining for England too.
With Arsenal still not being considered among the biggest clubs in Europe, the ideas of other clubs tracking the player with the idea of luring him away are easy to understand, but it looks like the Gunners have taken the issue of his contract expiring in 2024 seriously and won’t allow surprises.
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka will sign his new contract very soon, no changes in the plan as verbal agreement is in place since February. ⚪️🔴 #AFC
