Sakho closing in on Crystal Palace switch

Crystal Palace are close to agreeing a deal for Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho, according to Sky Sports.

The France international has been the Eagles’ top target this summer after impressing in a brief loan spell towards the end of last season though the two clubs had distance between their two valuations.

However, they appear to have settled over a fee of around £26m with the deal set to go through pending a medical and the agreement of personal terms.

Sakho moved to Liverpool in the summer of 2013 and has since racked up eighty appearances for them in all competitions, scoring three goals.

The last of those goals came in his last appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side – a 4-0 win over Merseyside rivals Everton back in April 2016.

Palace have lost their opening three league games so far this season and can currently be backed at 13/8 to be releagated.
