Salah equals Gerrard with sixth Premier League Player of the Month award

Mohamed Salah has been named the Premier League’s Player of the Month for November after helping Liverpool to three consecutive wins in the top-flight.

Salah scored or assisted five of Liverpool’s seven goals last month, helping the Reds to wins over Brighton, Aston Villa and Southampton.

His brace against Russell Martin’s side saw him net his 100th goal for Liverpool away from Anfield in all competitions.

The Egyptian wins the award for the first time since October 2023 and has now claimed the prize six times, the joint-most by a Liverpool player, going level with Steven Gerrard.

He is also one away from equalling Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero, who have won the award more times than anyone else in Premier League history (seven).

And Salah has continued his fine form into December, scoring three goals and laying on a further two assists in their fixtures against Newcastle United and Manchester City.

Three of those goal involvements came against the Magpies, meaning he has both scored and assisted in 37 different Premier League matches, overtaking Wayne Rooney (36) as the player to have done so on the most occasions in the competition.

Salah has also now scored in each of his last seven Premier League matches, with the Egyptian becoming just the third player to have two separate runs of 7+ consecutive games scored in a row in the competition, along with Jamie Vardy and Ruud van Nistelrooy.

And it was a double scoop for Liverpool with the Premier League awards, with Arne Slot named the Manager of the Month as his fine start on Merseyside continued.

Slot’s Liverpool were the only team to win all of their Premier League matches in November, with the Dutchman topping a three-man shortlist that also included Fabian Hurzeler and Gary O’Neil.

He is only the fourth Dutch manager to win the accolade, after Martin Jol, Ronald Koeman and Erik ten Hag.
