Juventus have apparently drawn up a short-list of possible targets for the upcoming transfer window, and it contains the name of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim the Egyptian is the Old Lady’s first choice when it comes to the attacking lines.
Juventus also aim to bring in Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti, Benfica duo of Joao Felix and Ruben Dias, Nicolo Zaniolo of AS Roma and Federico Chiesa of Fiorentina, the report states. They plan to fund all that, plus the acquisition of Salah, by selling Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa; possibly Miralem Pjanić too – if they receive an acceptable offer for the Bosnian midfielder.
Liverpool signed Salah from Roma in the summer of 2017, and in his first season at Anfield he became the top goalscorer in a single season in Premier League history in a 38-game cycle with 32 strikes, surpassing the likes of Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez. He is arguably among the best attacking players in the world, and last year he signed a new contract with the Merseysiders until 2023, without a buyout clause. It seems the sales of Dybala, Costa and Pjanić combined wouldn’t be enough to fund a move for Salah alone.
